2. Applications
It is a basic raw material for fine chemical products.
Parabens (4-hydroxybenzoate esters) are widely used as preservatives in food, medicine and cosmetics.
It is also extensively applied in the preparation of dyes, fragrances, bactericides, color motion picture films and various oil-soluble color couplers.
Besides, it serves as the core raw material for synthesizing high-temperature resistant polyesters of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid.
