1. Product Description
This product is made of high-purity refined magnesium. It is a widely applied magnesium material for Grignard reactions, and also serves as a desulfurizer, purifier and reducing agent.
Magnesium is a silvery-white hexagonal crystal metal.

It is soluble in inorganic acids and ammonium salts, and insoluble in cold water, chromic anhydride and alkalis. It decomposes in hot water to produce magnesium hydroxide. It retains its luster in dry air, but oxidizes to form a gray oxide film in humid air.
Magnesium powder and scraps present fire risks at room temperature and require careful handling. Bulk magnesium is prone to oxidation and combustion under high temperatures. Heat treatment and other operations should be performed under the protective atmosphere of sulfur dioxide or sulfur hexafluoride.

2. Applications
It is mainly used in four major fields: magnesium alloy production, aluminum alloy production, steel desulfurization, aerospace and military industry. It is also widely used in rare earth alloys, metal reduction, chemical industry and instrument manufacturing.
